Julien Rivière

Pedagogical Director

Julien Rivière serves as Pedagogical Director at the International School of Orange County, where he leads curriculum development, instructional excellence, and teacher professional growth across the school. He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Johns Hopkins University with a specialization in cognitive science applied to teaching and learning, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana University Bloomington, and an Engineering degree in Agronomy and Environmental Science from Montpellier SupAgro. His professional background spans classroom teaching and instructional leadership in French and international schools, with expertise in curriculum development, bilingual education, teacher coaching, and evidence-based educational practices. 


Julien is passionate about helping students and educators reach their full potential through research-informed instruction, collaboration, and continuous improvement. He believes meaningful learning happens when academic excellence is paired with curiosity, inclusion, and a student-centered approach. Fluent in French and English, he is committed to advancing bilingual education and fostering a culture of lifelong learning within the iSchoolOC community. Outside of school, Julien enjoys hiking, caring for plants, traveling, discovering new restaurants and coffee shops, and reading science fiction.
