Financial Aid Opportunities at iSchoolOC
At the International School of Orange County, we are committed to making a high-quality, bilingual education accessible to a diverse community of families. To support this mission, we offer multiple financial aid opportunities for eligible students.

French Government Scholarships (Bourse Scolaire)
French nationals may apply annually for need-based scholarships directly from the French government. These awards help promote a socioeconomically diverse student body and contribute to keeping our tuition competitive with other local private and French schools. More information about the bourse scolaire is available on the French Consulate’s website.
iSchoolOC Need-Based Financial Aid
In addition to external scholarships, our school also offers its own need-based financial aid program. Families interested in applying for school-administered aid can request an application by contacting us at financialaid@ischooloc.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply for financial aid?
Financial aid is available to families of students in Preschool through 8th grade who demonstrate financial need and meet school eligibility criteria.

How is financial aid determined?
Financial aid is based on demonstrated financial need, availability of funds, and school priorities. iSchoolOC uses School and Student Services (SSS), a third-party provider, to review financial information and help ensure a fair evaluation process.

Do returning families receive priority?
Yes. Returning families in good standing receive priority consideration for financial aid. New family applications are reviewed after returning family requests have been evaluated, subject to available funds.

Is financial aid guaranteed each year?
No. Financial aid is awarded on an annual basis and must be reapplied for each school year. Awards are not guaranteed from year to year.

What expenses does financial aid cover?
Financial aid applies to tuition only. It does not cover fees, extended care, or extracurricular costs.

Is there a maximum amount of financial aid available?
Yes. Financial aid awards may not exceed 50% of tuition.

What should French citizen families know about financial aid options?
Families who have a child with French citizenship and qualify for the French government’s Bourse Scolaire are strongly encouraged to apply for the French Bourse first. The French Bourse can cover up to 100% of tuition, depending on eligibility.

Can families receiving the French Bourse also receive iSchoolOC financial aid?
Families receiving funding through the French Bourse program may apply for iSchoolOC financial aid: however, the combined total of French Bourse and iSchoolOC financial aid may not exceed 50% of tuition.

What is the application deadline?
The financial aid application deadline is set each year and communicated to families in advance. Applications submitted after the deadline may be considered only if funds remain available.

What if our financial situation changes after the application deadline?
If a family experiences a significant change in financial circumstances after applications are due (such as job loss, reduced income, illness, or another major life event), families should contact the school as soon as possible. While funding is limited, the school may consider adjustments at its discretion.

Is financial aid information kept confidential?
Yes. All financial aid information is confidential and reviewed only by authorized school personnel.
