Kung Fu

Available to K to 6th, provided by April Hawley from American Tiger Martial Arts



This is a style of Martial Arts that does not rely on size or strength but on practiced techniques so it is suitable for students of all sizes. Classes are taught in a safe, fun and engaging way. The students will learn self-defense techniques and basic blocks and strikes. Come and experience drills and games designed to increase balance, focus, coordination, self-discipline and confidence. New students will earn a White Belt and will continue to advance through our system with regular Stripe and Belt Tests. Those students returning from previous semesters will continue at the Belt rank that they left with.

Required supplies: Comfortable clothing or gym clothes.


Come and learn the martial art of Kyin Kung Fu in a fun and respectful environment. This is a style of Martial Arts that does not rely on size or strength but on practiced techniques so it is suitable for students of all sizes. Taught by Master April Hawley – owner and head instructor at American Tiger Martial Arts & Fitness. This class will teach blocking and striking techniques and self defense skills. Come and experience drills and games designed to increase balance, focus, coordination, self-discipline and confidence. It is always emphasized that the first line of self-defense is non-physical and students are taught how to use these verbal skills with difficult people and situations such as bullying behavior. Students work toward earning colored belt ranks that are the stepping-stones toward earning a Black Belt.
