In the current context of school closure and online learning, our Parents’ Association was challenged with celebrating our faculty in a very unique way this year. Event Chair and parent Kathleen Kincade certainly did not scare away from the challenge! During a week-long celebration, she planned a thoughtful series of events meant to honor our faculty, allowing our students and their families to fully express their gratitude.
Every day of the week, our staff and faculty members, from preschool to 8th grade, received touching messages from the community. With daily themes such as Thankful Tuesday, Whimsical Wednesday or Throwback Thursday, our teachers were surprised every morning with plenty of photos, letters, drawings, slideshows or even videos, demonstrating our students’ creativity and eagerness to celebrate their teachers’ hard work and dedication. The most beautiful messages certainly came on Floral Friday when students across all grades sent virtual bouquets to their beloved teachers.
If anything, this week has shown once more how tight-knit our community is despite the safe-at-home orders and remote learning implemented for the past two months. Seeing our teachers’ efforts being recognized in such a heartfelt way will remain an emotional moment all of us shared during this unique health crisis.
